When to travel

Beacause of its latitude Mauritius has only two distintive seasons throughout the year; summer and winter. The seasons are in contrast to the Northern Hemisphere so when it is winter in Europe it is summer in Mauritius and vice-versa.

Peak season is from the beginning of November until the end of February but the island is generally well within the 30°C all the way through to April. If you enjoy the sea then it is perhaps best to travel from January onwards once the summer sun has reheated the lagoons and seas.
